What is FTC?

FIRST® Tech Challenge is our flagship middle school level program for students seeking a season-long, iterative engineering experience. Teams design and construct smaller, highly customizable robots using aluminum extrusion systems, additive manufacturing, and advanced programming capabilities such as Java-based control and computer vision. FTC places strong emphasis on innovation, design documentation, and iterative refinement. Competitions balance robot performance with engineering excellence and teamwork, offering a challenging but accessible robotics experience suited for teams focused on creativity and systematic improvement.
