ABOUT US
What is NWMR?
Northwest Metro Robotics is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing high-quality, year-round STEAM programs for students in grades K–12.
Founded in 2015 by Ryan Hedlund, our organization began as a small nonproft with a big vision: to make hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math accessible to every student. Since then, we have grown into one of the largest STEAM organizations in Minnesota, serving hundreds of students and families each year.
But we are more than robotics.
We are a community built on mentorship, leadership, and opportunity. Through competitive robotics teams, outreach programs, workshops, and year-round learning experiences, we empower students to develop technical skills, confidence, teamwork, and a passion for innovation.
Our mission is simple:Inspire students. Build leaders. Strengthen communities.
Every program we run is powered by volunteers who believe in the life-changing impact of STEAM education. Together, we are creating pathways for students to explore their potential, discover their passions, and shape the future.
