What is FrC?
FIRST® Robotics Competition is a high school level program where teams of students work with mentors to design, build, and program a fully engineered 120-lb robot within a strict build period. The competition emphasizes real-world engineering challenges: teams prototype mechanisms, integrate advanced control systems, fabricate components, and manage complex project workflows that mirror professional engineering environments. Events feature full-scale, high-intensity matches on a regulation field, rewarding reliability, strategy, and technical sophistication. FRC gives students genuine exposure to mechanical, electrical, and software engineering at an industry level.
